The new Data Collection Framework Regulation must include the mandatory requirement to collect data on all aquaculture production.

Seas At Risk and Birdlife Europe have created a joint briefing on the need for the inclusion of freshwater aquaculture in the reform of the existing Data Collection Framework (DCF). Current discussions at the Agrifish Council have seen some member states object to such a measure, and this briefing aims to lay out the case for why it is so crucial to include freshwater as well as coastal aquaculture in future data collection.
