The Irish environmental NGO VOICE has started work on their ‘Our Water footprints’ initiative which aims to highlight the importance of water efficiency.

The campaign comes off the back of severe water shortages felt in Dublin just last month and makes for a strong argument necessitating water charges in order to preserve reservoir supplies.

VOICE plan on evaluating how Ireland's per capita water usage stacks up internationally and they will also examine water wastage in terms of an individual’s personal habits.

The campaign will also provide useful advice to people on water efficiency within the home and will address growing concerns regarding the notion of ‘peak water’.

The project is set to be completed later this year with resources available on the VOICE website and in print from May.
