Gonçalo Carvalho

Gonçalo Carvalho holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology and Fisheries by the University of Algarve and a Master’s degree in Environmental Sociology by ISCTE/IUL. He spent the first part of his professional life as a researcher and fisheries observer in several Portuguese fisheries. Since 2006, when he helped to create Sciaena, he has been working with Environmental Non-Governmental Organisations (ENGOs), namely on fisheries policy but also on other areas of marine conservation. He is currently the Executive Coordinator of Sciaena and a consultant to several international ENGOs.
