Douwe de Haan
Deep Sea Mining and Shipping Intern
Douwe de Haan is a trainee at Seas At Risk and a Coastal and Marine Management student at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences (NL). His passion for the marine environment began at a young age and grew after discovering diving. After gaining field experience during an internship in the Philippines focused on manta ray conservation, Douwe became increasingly interested in how marine protection is shaped through policy. At Seas At Risk, he contributes to work on deep-sea mining and sustainable shipping while learning about EU marine policy and advocacy.
