Seas At Risk is delighted to welcome Eco-Union as our newest member, bringing our membership to 30 organisations in 15 EU countries.

Founded in 2005, Eco-Union works towards a transition to sustainable development models in the Euro-Mediterranean region by linking economics and ecology. Climate change, green and blue economies, governance and policies are key focus areas for the organisation. Eco-Union seeks solutions that balance economic development, social welfare and protection of the environment. It works by promoting research projects, awareness-raising, and cooperation and training at local and international level. Eco-Union’s ultimate goal is to ensure the well-being of current and future generations through sustainable development. The cooperation established with Seas At Risk will focus on Marine Protected Areas, Maritime Spatial Planning and the Marine Directive to ensure healthy seas and ocean.

Seas At Risk grows stronger with each new member and we are grateful for their enthusiasm, willingness to cooperate, and broad expertise in various, interlinked fields. Eco-Union is an exceptional addition, whose experience in public advocacy and dissemination of knowledge will strongly impact our fight for greener and bluer policy and governance.

As the world slowly returns to normal, we remain committed to safeguarding our seas, our ocean, and our future.
