After two years of collaborative work involving fishers, civil society, scientists, and actors across the seafood value chain, Seas At Risk (SAR) and the Low Impact Fishers of Europe (LIFE) present a shared Vision for a just transition toward low-impact and fair fisheries in Europe.
The event, hosted by MEP Thomas Bajada in the European Parliament, presents and discusses a new model for organising, conducting, and supporting Europe’s diverse fisheries. Together with representatives of EU institutions, national fisheries ministries, fishing communities, and citizens, we assess pathways to foster low-impact fisheries in order to advance environmental sustainability and to enhance the social and economic resilience of coastal communities.
