Seas At Risk together with 120 organisations issued an urgent call to the EC, DG MARE, all heads of state of the EU and the European parliamentary Committee on Fisheries to address the negative environmental impacts of unsustainable and unselective drifting Fishing Aggregating Devices which Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese fleets are using and abandoning to catch tuna in the Indian Ocean. This urgent call was sent prior the special session of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission in February.
