European Union member states and the UK are deciding on fishing limits for 2023. In past years, they have consistently chosen to set fishing limits higher than scientists deem sustainable, particularly for species that are already depleted or of low commercial interest. This briefing was organised by Seas At Risk to inform the media about this important issue ahead of the December AGRIFISH Council meeting of Fisheries Ministers, where fishing limits will be discussed.
